This is one of the few paintings I did over in Italy that I actually like. Sort of. It's part of a monastery up in Fiesole. Maybe an hour and a half. Because I only paint for fun, and I only enjoy the first few steps of a painting, I rarely finish anything beyond a sketch.
I likes me my freedom. It's maybe my favorite thing about freelancing.
My last gig is all tied up and done, by the way, so I'll be posting with a li'l more frequency during the foreseeable future. Unless I get offered another ludicrously large job, I should be able to post more of this Italy stuff. I've still got two more sketchbooks and a few more paintings to go through.

That's pure class!
You know, I like the painting sketch phase better as well... as fas as landscapes go, I can't seem to finish anything beyond that either. And it looks cooler.
I love the under-painting on this. Nice.
Jake! Holy crap, nice painting.
Impressionism is the way to be! I think Monet and friends took one look at Rembrandt and said, "bah let's cheat the system." My heroes.
Hey I wouldn't mind if you shared some of that ludicrously large job thingy... ;)
beautimous!! I love this Jake! The color is spectacular along with the edge control which gives is so much depth and excitment
fun diagonal balance of elements.
Sweet!
Glad to hear that you survived that last WORK DUMP and that you are back among the living (?).
Anyway, this makes me want to die, so keep up the good work!
Very nice, brother Wyatt. Great subtlety.
