I've had these pages sitting around for a while. I drew them all in the first week of January, but then a bunch of work came along, and I had to put it aside. I colored these pages last week, and the talented and generous Anthony Holden lettered them for me in a pinch. This short goes for about 20 more pages, and it's part of a larger story that goes on for hundreds. In a few weeks I'll know whether to just finish the short and put it out or to start planning the longer project.

I love drawing comics.

These are so freakin gorgeous, is it possible that you've possibly contained an economical James Jean style into a comic book interior?!?! Makes me want to try. . . Thanks for the inspiration. Also, love the color transitions into night, I love that you know how to use high values to depict darkness.

Wow Jake, that's awesome! Did you write that? I think I like the writing as much as the visuals

Dude i had looked at this when you first posted it, but i had to say something as i looked it over again just now. this is so phenomenal. The colors, even though i can't see them properly, are so rich. i think the world that pops into my head most of all is that- "rich". This is like biting into a delicious spoonful of savory, delicious chowder. the chowder of awesome.
