TO THE PAIN

I'm coming down off of this incredible, euphoric, insomniac fugue-state, and can't sleep, despite the fact that I haven't done so in almost 48 hours, now.  This happened to me Saturday night, too.  So I thought I'd post some of my favorite passages from THESEUS.

This particular panel features a big ol' eye.

And this page (SURPRISE!) is full of yellow-ellow-ellow-ellow.

Because of the difference in scale between combatants, I wanted the fight to take place on what is essentially an infinite plane.  Every once in a while some background will show up for orientation or the sake of a composition, but I tried to keep the figures fighting in space.  It was fun to do, but now I really want to do something environmentally heavy... so expect some of that soon.

Beautiful stuff once again. I love the character's mangled fall on the first panel of the second page... oh, and the heavy crumpled way he gets up in the last two panels... Okay I really just love the who page A-lot.

I'm absolutely in man-love with what you're doing on these pages, Jake. The coloring is just brilliant. I have a fever, and the only cure is more YELLOW.

Jake, this is great! my hands hurt in empathy to look at these last panels - like the feeling you get falling off your skateboard when you try to ride it over gravel on asphalt. I felt the compulsion to pick out small rocks from my palms. Keep it up!
