This is a tale of Teen-Aged Heroism told in six pages, drawn in the traditional Comic Book Manner for your visual enjoyment.
A lot of the panel-to-panel storytelling is clunky. I was trying to be 'economic' and ended up with a lot of choppy transitions that disrupt the narrative flow. I have a lot to learn. But this is kind of the best I can do right now.
The next one will be better.

I really love that last page!! It's a great finish - great dialogue and accompanying expression.
I like witht with the values put it.... it's a lot more clear. Especially with Batman and Robin being ht e only blacks. I like it.
oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh.
this is entertaining.... like..... i love it.
i would pay a good amount of money for these printed out. poster sized.
AWESOME!!!Great layout
I only see five pages...
And they are all fantastic. But of those five, the second and fourth are the most excessively awesome. Way to be amazing.
I'm totally blown away! Awesome comps and way to place those figures in perspective
Oh, simba, when will you ever learn.
Magnifique.
That double page spread is sick. I love your clown thugs so much.
This is a good landmark on your way to achieving your goals.
I feel like you're trying to reinvent comics a little... give a new definition to a well-known word. That's a bold move.
In some areas your new incarnation for comics is rock solid. In other areas, it's breaking down a little bit. I'm sure you can see what i mean.
On the whole, you're heading in good directions.
You mentioned that you think the pacing feels choppy- It might smooth out if you sprinkled some panels here and there that express the characters' sensory experience - cold, wet, achy muscles, the metal taste of blood deep in your throat. That's missing here, I think.
Your fight scenes deliver some serious hurt. Me likey.
Aww, thanks, guys!
Stebar. I also see five pages, but I FEEL six. : )
Jed- I think you're right. I'm gonna try working some more sensory information into my current project and see what happens.
hey jakie. i like it. here's the deal. it's time to start getting business savvy and time to start making some money for your side projects! galleries. prints. website. paypal.
Jake, these are amazing. I love the shot of Robin's face on the first page. And that clown scene in the second is intense. Way to be!
Wow Jake. You've put your solid draftsmanship to good use here.
Agree with Jed. Your general rendering of the characters harkens back to a simpler, more graphic (and cooler) look (both pre-90's and current indie), yet cinematographically it retains the lessons of recent years.
All of your individual panels are just solid. Rock solid. Solid as a rock you might say. But I think you're correct that some of the visual flow is a little clunky. I had to go back in a couple of spots.
One in particular: the "leg-twister" was inventive (foot points up, now it points down), but because I never saw the assailant's agonized reaction, I actually kinda missed it on the first read--had to go back. Call me impatient or stupid, but yeah.
Summary: looks awesome, what's there is awesome, just missing a few landmarks.
I counted seven--what am I doing wrong?
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFRIKEN FANTASTIC.
I like your value handling.
I really felt the ankle-break, I think that read really well.
OMG,these are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
I love all the pages!!!!!!!!!!!
absolutely love the double page composition... amazing!
As an avid fan of The Bat, thank you for not drawing him as a guy that runs around with underwear on top of his pants. This is closer to... normal?
Good meeting you last weekend, as well. I wish I had the drive to illustrate as I once did. I'm a tad jealous. Keep it up – you've been bookmarked.
